Patrick Hernan Talbot, Elizabeth’s husband of twenty-five years, passed away on December 5, 2025 after many years of battling a rare neurological disease called PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). Patrick died in peace and with the full assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Patrick was a passionate preacher of the grace of God and a licensed Marriage and Family therapist. He had a Master’s degree in Religion and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy. He also authored several books as he devoted himself to spreading the good news of eternal life through the perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus on our behalf. His legacy on the theological topic of “Justification by Faith” is known throughout the world and God has used his preaching, teaching and writing to bring many to know the gospel.
Patrick will be greatly missed and we long for the Second Coming of Jesus when he will rise from the dead to eternal life by the grace of God, to live forever without pain, suffering, disease or death due the sacrifice of our Lord on our behalf.
We invite all of you to the celebration of his life to be held on January 31, 2026 at the Yucaipa Valley Spanish SDA church. The address is 12504 Fourth St., Yucaipa, CA 92399. This will be a bilingual (English & Spanish) memorial service. We hope to see you there.

“Storms and Deserts” is the newest book by Elizabeth Talbot. It revisits biblical stories of actual fierce tempests and scorching wildernesses that developed into stories of emotional and spiritual turmoil for those who went through them. And yet in the midst of those crises, God revealed Himself to His children in unprecedented ways. We all struggle with major questions and pain. This is why our souls yearn for a better world without suffering, promised for those who accept Jesus as their Savior (see Revelation 21:4). But until then, while we still face the storms and conflicts of life here and now, God comes to us with compassion and grace. He reveals Himself to us in true and real ways, ministering to our souls and healing our wounds with a love and care that surpass our understanding, little by little changing our image of who He is.

LOMA LINDA, CA – The Association of Adventist Women has named Elizabeth Talbot, Ph.D. as the 2024 Woman of the Year for Spiritual Leadership and Media Ministry. Talbot was presented this honorary award at the Association of Adventist Women Banquet on October 12, 2024. Talbot was recognized for her commitment to sharing Jesus through her preaching, writing, and visual ministry.
“I am grateful to the Association of Adventist Women for this award. First of all, I thank Jesus for achieving our salvation, and for choosing women as the first witnesses of His resurrection. I also thank the North American Division for their commitment to encourage women in leadership. And I want to recognize that without the awesome Jesus 101 team that works alongside with me, we wouldn’t be able to create this quality of Christ-centered biblical resources. Praise God for His guidance in leading this ministry. It is all about Jesus,” Talbot stated upon receiving the award.
Other 2024 Woman of the Year Award recipients include: Silvia Scholtus, Ph.D. for Church Leadership and Scholarship; Vi Zapara, Ph.D. for Philanthropic Leadership; and Rene Drumm, Ph.D. for Scholarship and Church Leadership. The Association of Adventist Women also awarded a Champion of Justice Award to Victor Marley, MA, President of the Norwegian Union.
The Association of Adventist Women works to advocate for the participation of women in all leadership roles in Seventh-day Adventist organizations and communities around the world. Since 1984, the organization has recognized individuals that have made outstanding contributions to their church and community.
Elizabeth Talbot, Ph.D., is the Speaker/Director and Founder of the Jesus 101 Biblical Institute (Jesus101.tv) – an official media ministry of the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
